BoDirect is software for people who pay for healthcare out of pocket. We gather the self-pay prices providers publish, put them side by side for your area, and help you get the price in writing before you go. This letter says why, what we will never do, and where to find us.
Why it exists.If you have no insurance, or a deductible so high it will not kick in, you know the routine: you call three offices and get three vague answers, and the real number arrives with the bill. The prices are often published; they are just scattered, and hard to hold a provider to. We collect them, date them, and turn them into a letter you can send.
What we will never do.A few rules decide what BoDirect is. They are in the margin, signed, and they do not bend for a partner or a sale. If a page on this site ever seems to break one, write to us and we will fix the page.
In an emergency, call 911. Do not shop.
How prices are sourced and dated.Every price is one a provider posted itself, on its self-pay page, a price sheet, or a hospital price file. Each one carries its source and the date we last checked it. The search on this site is a demonstration on a small fixed set of example prices, marked as example data; it is not live.
